And it was one of those Mid May Sunday noon! Hot as ever!
Me, my cousin and sis-in-law were off to some shopping. Strange was that. But had a reason to do that. It was indeed hot outside and we were glad to be sitting in a AC cab. Bangalore traffic was at its 'usual best'! :) No wonders.
We were inching towards the place and could not escape a stop at traffic signal. You had no choice but to gaze around. Then there I saw one of the commercial posters by a private airlines. The poster was showing a person busy looking at some book, which I guessed was a homework book, where his daughter (again a guess) was having a assured sleep in his laps. The poster depicted how the airline valued costumer's time and made sure they reached home on right time.
I was busy thinking how the person in the poster must have been feeling and there it happened.
I felt a warm grip around my hands. She was my cute niece, Srusthi, a year and half old. It was easy to understand that she had fallen asleep. Her little fingers tried to hold me and I felt her head resting on my chest. I made no efforts to move my body to make sure she is not disturbed. She was having a assured sleep in my lap. Then I went on and looked at the poster again. I had my answer right there on what it felt like.
I wanted to see her face by now but thought it would break her sleep. But the feeling was awesome. I was as much glad as the person in the poster would be. I kept my body unmoved while I was totally moved by this heavenly experience. It indeed made me forget the chaos around, our plans for the noon and myself.
We reached our station and got our work done. But the precious thing I was carrying back home was this experience.
And now I think I always have a real reason to visit my cousin's home whenever I find time. Anytime I am down and out I can look up to this little cute smiling face and get rid of the the tensions life will board on me. Where is heaven after all?
Not too far!
God bless her like he has blessed us with this gift.
I like it.... :-)
